Candle Care Guide

Our hand-poured soy wax candles provide many hours of clean-burning, strong-smelling fragrance that we want you to make the most of.

Your candle's first burn is always the most important as it sets the stage for how it performs. As wax retains memory, we recommend allowing it to melt to the edge of the jar. It may take up to 4 hours during the first burn.

Doing this helps avoid future tunnelling, a build-up of non-melted wax around the sides, often going to waste. It will also maximise scent throw as a candle releases fragrance through the melted wax.

To achieve a stable burn, trim your wick to approximately 5 mm between uses. We recommend using a wick trimming tool for best results, or you can pinch away the loose bits with your fingers.

I purchased mystic oud alongside the self (ish) company mango mantra candle following a recommendation. I recently had guests round and decided to burn both downstaris and the pairing was totally incredible.
